BaubleBar + Weddings

30 Oct

A lot of my British readers will be wondering, who in the world are BaubleBar?

BaubleBar is high quality fashion jewellery company based across the seas on American shores. I wouldn’t even call it costume jewellery as it’s so much more beautiful. Unfortunately, a lot of their pieces are super recognisable because they have been copied! Naughty Naughty.

Gone are the days when you have have to buy or borrow authentic expensive pieces of jewellery for your big day.

The problem with most costume jewellery is that it tends to look tacky and translate terribly in professional photography. If I had a pound for every bride who has complained about their jewellery after seeing their pictures. You spend a grand on a dress and risk it all looking cheap because Mr T is hanging off your ear? Please…..just no….

I know your wondering about the price tag. Don’t worry, it’s all affordable, like normal people affordable. Not blogger affordable at another £1000 hahaah! I”m in a jokey mood.

5 Things: That are just wrong……..and really freak me out

29 Oct

keep calm mug

Keep calm? I’m trying.

1. People who feel up their partners butts in public.  A sweet kiss? Please go ahead but COME ON! Seriously, the butts not going anywhere if you play your cards right! We know you like her, we know you find her attractive and other biological stuff…….. but please keep it IN private. This means away from tube escalators, shopping centres, pavements and restaurants. Also, away from my face. Yes, restaurants! Whilst at a Thai Place Sunday night one man’s hands were getting a little too friendly with his girlfriend. All whilst they appeared to be casually socialising with their friends. Only I could see the real deal.

2. Children with lots of makeup and nail varnish on. A bit of a serious one but it has to go in. Please tell me why some 4 year olds are wearing more jewellery and make up than this 23 year old? No…urgh…no! Children=Childhood please!

3. Camel toe. No description necessary. Common among those who think that leggings are trousers. They are not trousers, I repeat they are NOT trousers! And the majority are not thick, why should I know what colour knickers you are wearing. Why should i know that your knickers have dots on them. Or little flowers or raunchy lace? There is an extent to being my brothers keeper. I feel sorry for all those guys trying to keep a pure mind because I’m considering wearing shades permanently!

4. Guys that longer eye lashes than me. It’s just so unfair…..sigh.

5. People who love their pets a bit too much.  I understand that you dog is cute and has the cutest little ears and paws. I even understand how your pet can become your best friend. But licking all over your face and going about your life as if you are not bacteria riddled! Let’s just get this clear, you are not the same species! Cute and all but….limits. Please.

FYI: These are just my opinions!

5 Signs your growing up!

22 Oct

plane view

Suck it up and enjoy the ride….

1.  The sudden realisation that your life before 18 wasn’t easy but subsdised! Paying for oyster cards, topping up gas cards and repaying student loans? Then they have the cheek to dangle the magic 18-25 railcard and snatch it from you after your 25th birthday. I’ll kiss my teeth, but not too much as it’s hard to find a NHS dentist with openings….

2. Your diary becomes more than something you put off buying till there are literally none left. Having a full time job means you loose the greatest usable portion of your day. Everything else commands organisation. Last week I realised I need to stop doodling in mine and actually write in it.

3. Your social life is planned and night’s in are appealing. There’s no impromptu ‘lets play outside’. If it is impromptu it’s fake, void of adrenaline and fuelled by caffeine. You need notice to ensure you have even have enough energy to attend. We would like to think there’s enough in us to go to those after work socials but unless its a prelude to the weekend(friday night), forget that jazz. Period drama’s feature heavily in these night-ins. Suddenly, finding out which maid took the silver spoon is worth Sky planner recording space.

4. When you get more wedding and baby shower invitations than party suggestions. To make the hormones current,  the lovers and mothers have taken to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to chronicle their journeys. All those scans and ring pictures!( I secretly think this is cute, except when overdone….)

5. When a condescending cloud about the superioirity of your childhood descends upon you.  You may start to say things like ‘when I was your age’…..and not even know it. All these silly ungrateful kids….

Beauty: Boots Haul

17 Oct

Hello beautiful wonderful people 🙂 I have started to think about the kind of posts I like to read. I spend a lot of my chill out time watching hauls(where bloggers/vloggers chronicle their latest buys). I get so much shopping inspiration from hauls, especially the beauty videos. It is incredible how much is available to us online! So from now on, whenever I buy something more interesting than discounted toilet paper(HOLLA!), I may chronicle it here. So here goes…

boots haul

1. Fashion Fair Oil Control Pressed Powder £21 here

2. Fashion Fair Perfect Finish Soufflé Mouse Foundation £22 here

I decided to jump off the Mac foundation band wagon and try a another brand. Especially considering the don’t actually cater for my skin tone and I’m tired of mixing colours. Fashion Fair is dedicated to black skin tones. I don’t know that I’ll ever get my perfect foundation, but teamed with the power it’s a pretty good match.

3. Eucerin Dermo Purifier Active Concentrate £9.50 here

First time purchasing this product but I’m already a huge Eucerin fan! These people KNOW skin. Perfect for anyone with SUPER sensitive skin or ex-acne. Got loads of compliments since I started using this, but this isn’t a review so moving on swiftly!

4. Eucerin Dermo Purifier Cleanser £9.50 here

Old favourite, doesn’t leave you with that tight feeling that happens when you use a bad product. Bonus Points for removing eye make-up!

5. Boots Branded Eyelash Curler £4.5o here

I have eyelashes so short I look like I’m permanently wearing eyeliner. This is my first eyelash curler…..it’s giving me life!

Dig Out That Old Tee..

1 Oct

H&M conscious

So it seems that while I was sleeping, the T-Shirt got fabulous.

Many would argue that everything in fashion has already been done and we are only recreating the old. I completely disagree. While we are not creating styles that define the decades are much as before, new themes are emerging. Having looked at the beautiful fashion weeks across the globe happening right now, the street style tells us that something is bubbling. Fashion is now a portrait of opposites. Everything from evening wear with trainers( so very Lily Allen), to a silk lingerie slip dress and a tuxedo jacket.

I have to admit that I have never really been a T-Shirt person. However, I stumbled into a H&M store a month or two ago and fell in love! H&M’S ‘Conscious’ collection celebrates ethical and social responsible clothing. All of that aside, I bought mine primarily because the T-shirt had a ‘C’ on it….C is for Chioma instead 😉 Excuse the bad lighting/Iphone situation…

So in the spirit of trend loving, I have thrown in a plaid skirt, T-Shirt and a couple of other bits and bobs. I hope this inspires you as much as it has me eagerly budgeting my way around these pieces….
