Stopped in my tracks…

24 Jun

Every now and then you see something that quite literally takes your breathe away. This just took mine..

wedding veil

by Caroline Tran Photography

Quite simply, this is everything. I don’t quite know where to start. The veil is stunning. It features tulle, white polka dots and lace. A beautiful accompaniment for a dream like blush coloured wedding dress. It would add texture for a bride wearing a simple choice on her big day. The photography is my favourite kind, natural, vintage inspired but timeless. Far from hideous over photoshopping that looks fashionable at the time and tacky 5 years later. Team this bride with rose gold, greens and pinks and you’ve got yourself a fairy-tale. My mind is running away with me, one thing at a time.

Whole Flower Confetti?

22 Nov

Photography by Steve Watkins Photography

Happy thanksgiving to those across the pond!

I have seen all manners of confetti. I’ve seen coloured dots, whole petals, music notes. In the grand scheme of things confetti can seem like such a small part of a wedding. But let’s face it, no wedding photography is complete without the perfect confetti shot. It’s up there with the groom’s face as the bride walks down the aisle. Two people, happy and caught off guard…can’t go wrong really. Well…unless it goes up the brides nose ha!

Like so many aspects of weddings, it’s a great way to inject a couple’s stamp on the day. So new versions are always welcome.

Most of the time floral confetti is reduced to petals but LarkspurHill had a much better idea. Whole dried flowers…it’s a wonder few others have tried it. The story behind LarkspurHill is so cute.

A lady with 5 daughters and a great garden becomes very busy. After creating so many dried flowers for her daughter’s weddings, Cindy C thought she should share her produce. Good thinking Batman.

The results are incredible! On eof the best parts is that you can buy the months before the wedding and know that they will keep till the big day. We salute you Larkspur Hill.

Leopard Printed Statement

18 Jul

When it comes to coats and jackets I am extremely picky. In fact, in the last four years I have only bought three. I have wide shoulders, big hips and even bigger thighs ha! Anything that doesn’t nip me in at the waist makes me look a bigger than I am. Coats need fabric that is durable and waterproof(to a decent extent).

This trench is from Topshop….I call it my ‘summer coat’. Warm when necessary and cooler when I need insurance against British weather. It’s almost a mustard colour, which compliment my skin-tone pretty well….almost a ‘black’ nude ha! These shoes are the love of my LIFE! I lost one….(don’t ask how) but I’ve been re-united. Elegant and risky all at the same time. Boom…

Trench Coat: Topshop/ Black Pencil Dress: Asos/ Leopard Print Shoe’s: Nine West/ Bag: Asos

I owe a massive thank you to a good friend of mine who seems to get dragged into taking all my photo’s! We havn’t settled on a name for her enterprise, but when we do I’ll let you all know about her. Love you!

We’ve reached the end of my countdown for the bridesmaids gifts…boo-hoo! I’ve had a great time researching this. In my day job I often advice people about bridemaid’s gifts, so it was great for me to look at what’s widely available.I can’t help thinking that bridesmaids are very lucky girls ha!

I’ve saved one of the best for last. This gift is completely universal but is( as all the others before were), a GREAT photo prop. I also believe this is a pretty unique idea that will be rise in popularity!
