J.Crew staged a London invasion the Summer. Thus bringing the covetable brands unique styling onto our side of the globe. Don’t even get me started on the women’s wear. Major web drooling occurred !

The J. Crew Wedding department has combined the right amount of fairy tale and style. My favourite brides always have a mix of both. It is very whimsical and perfect while not being toooo put together. Quite frankly, It’s gorgeous. What should be going down the aisle? This!

The dress is a the perfect juxtaposition between playful and elegant. The cami style top makes the whole wedding dress thing not so serious. But the feather embellishment and high quality fabric bring substance for a bride who isn’t afraid to try something different.

Who else is glad all of this is now only a tube away?

Every now and then you see something that quite literally takes your breathe away. This just took mine..

Quite simply, this is everything. I don’t quite know where to start. The veil is stunning.It features tulle, white polka dots and lace. A beautiful accompaniment for a dream like blush coloured wedding dress. It would add texture for a bride wearing a simple choice on her big day. The photography is my favourite kind, natural, vintage inspired but timeless. Far from hideous over photoshopping that looks fashionable at the time and tacky 5 years later. Team this bride with rose gold, greens and pinks and you’ve got yourself a fairy-tale. My mind is running away with me, one thing at a time.

Where are the price tags? At Weddington Way!

It’s no secret that the more luxurious the product is, the more absent the price tag is. This is all well and good with items of massive value, certain pieces of jewellry, watches etc. Maybe it’s just me, but I get super duper annoyed when I go to clothing websites with no prices. In my few years on earth I have helped countless brides with sourcing information. In these challenging financial times, it helps to shop within your budget.

             Weddington Way is an incredible initiative, giving you the option to create an online profile for your entire wedding party.  Shortlisting is so much easier, whilst allowing everybody to have their say. Your entire bridal party will actually get to see the dresses AND the prices. Easy as pie….me thinks so!

            Judging from reviews it seems that the customer service was really incredible, or not so great. However, they are doing something that nobody else is doing at the moment. Too much? No! Claire Pettibone Bridal Collection ‘An Earthly Paradise’

Hi wonderful people! Hope you are all alive, kicking and doing a better job getting out of bed than I am. Yes, I am still in bed which is pretty unlike me but it’s so cold outside and my bed is SO toasty! Ahhh…. The only thing is, I’ve got to got to get ready for work at some point. The colder it gets the more I want to stay indoors, am I the only one? And besides the cold, my new wisdom tooth hurts! On the bright side, it could be so much worse. I’m hoping the wisdom tooth brings some wisdom with it.

Lets start the day with some loveliness shall we?

When I first saw Claire Pettibone’s bridal wear, I melted just a little bit. The fabric,the design, it’s all very atmospheric. I have to admit I was late on this bandwagon. Pettibone became an even bigger deal when a familiar face on the bloggersphere got married in one of her gowns.

I know a lot of my friends think the detail is too fussy. Regardless, of this no one could deny how elegant Pettibone brides are. Stay with me, there is a point to this long winded typing. A lot of people are unnecessarily put off intricate gowns by runway pictures and photo shoots. Fashion designers have a creative licence to build up a feeling or theme. Just remember that you are only taking away the dress, not the background, headdress or tiara.

Styling around a bridal collection is suggestive not definitive.  A beautiful dress is a beautiful dress. The rest is up to you. At this moment brides all over the world are seeking out dresses for the busy summer wedding period. Give yourself plenty of options and try on EVERYTHING.   I once worked in a jewellers. It would be impossible to count the amount of times women walked out of the shop with things they swore they would hate. The moral of the story is don’t always trust your first response.

Vera Wang Spring 2013

Who doesn’t love a bit of Vera Wang? The whimsical girl in me wants to try on every one and put pretty flowers in my hair….sigh. One of the reasons I am so in love with these dresses is that they have designs! Confused? Let me explain myself. The problem with wedding dresses is that often they are just white, nothing added nothing special. So many these days have such questionable designs. My message to brides everywhere is this:

‘If you put colour on it and it doesn’t look nice, it’s not a nice wedding dress!’

Lately Vera Wang has been showing her bridal collections in many different colours. It’s a real treat to be able to actually see her work, a lot gets missed in white.
